Unhappy Dying Guilds

Ater weeks of searching for that one guild i belonged in, i found it or at least i thought i did. It was great when i first joined...Got a promotion, things where looking good for awhile, but it slowly begin to die. I try to recruit as much members as possible but they all end up leaving, the guild is inactive...theres only about 3-5 people on at any one time. It saddens me greatly because i really wanted to make this my permenant Guild, But I've lost the spirit for recruiting or anything else. though I feel like i have to stay, i've made lots of friends here but i don't want to keep trying so hard for a guild that exists just to exsist. we have no purpose, except AB being an AB guild and all but even then no one seems to do that. I schedule recruitathons (Where all officers recruit) but that always fails. Have any of you found solutions to this type of problem like a way to "Heal" a dying guild? or should i just leave. Please share your thoughts with me, so i can finally put my mind at ease.

-Thanks In advance

You saying you got a promotion so I'm assuming you are not the leader of the guild. As you are coming on this forum with the problem, I assume your leader being one of the inactive -- or at least rarely active -- members. This usually causes an enormous crack in morale of guild members. Having a team of officers who seem to be unified by a common goal towards the members may help. This may get "bloody" however as usually you'll have a minority of officers who will simply not cooperate or listen.

If your leader is absent or fails to set such unified goal -- goal as in purpose for your guild to work towards to. Legio Romana has as goal to host at least one massive high-end PvE event in the week and recruit a minimum x-number of new members each week. As you are calling out for help here, I'd suggest you be the strong one in the guild -- if you wish to rebuild that is -- and gather a set of officers who you can trust, who you can rely on and who are willing to work towards the goal(s) you set for the guild. Anyone not cooperating you ought to try to convince them, if not, have them demoted as they'll cripple you in your efforts.

As for assigning officers, don't import new members and promote them to officers. Solve this problem internally: round up the active members who are willing to share the burden with you. Hope this helps.

My feeling on the PvE side of the house:

Smallish guilds with very active players are ideal. meaning, say you have a guild with 8 members, they are online at identical times and own the same chapters. If these people had a good rapport and tackled game challenges together, you'd have near perfection.

Now, not everyone is online at the same time, so obviously more than 8 would probably be necessary, but at some point people will be left out in the cold when it comes to activities. The odd-man out syndrome.

The other problem is that everyone is doing their own thing with their Heroes; but that's not a guild killer if they still touch base and participate in the social aspects of the guild. Ultimately though, there is no sense in being in a guild if you never interact with other guild members in a meaningful way.

A mutually beneficial relationship is the ideal goal; everything else can follow: friendship, fun, etc.
